Welcome to the Jungle: Preparing for Your Session

Everything you need to know before your first visit — from grip socks to fresh pipa.

Welcome to where the jungle meets the sea in beautiful Nosara, Costa Rica!

Here are a few tips to prepare for your training session at Vida Movement Studio:

  • Arrival. Please arrive on time for your appointment to receive your full 50 minute training session.

  • Clothing. Wear comfortable clothing that allows for ease of movement. Grip socks are required for using the Pilates equipment. If you forgot yours, no problem. We keep a few pairs handy.

  • Water. Please bring your own full water bottle. We live in a hot, humid, tropical climate so extra mineral support may be required with exercise. Consider adding a pinch of salt and lime juice to your water for natural electrolytes, or have a fresh pipa on training days.

  • Footwear. At Vida Movement footwear is optional. We do require grip socks for use of the Pilates equipment. Recommended footwear are flat heeled or barefoot training shoes, or cross-trainers for cardio equipment.

  • Nourishment. We recommend eating a balanced meal 90–120 minutes before your training session, and a post-workout snack or meal with protein and complex carbohydrates within 60 minutes after training.
